User Comments on Qckvu

Tony Russell from National Semicoductor is a user Artwork's Qckvu GDSII/MEBES.

National Semiconductor UK been using Qckvu since October 2002.

The software allows product, yield and process engineers who may be
unskilled in the use of CAD software to verify data files at their
own desk, and at a time which suits them.

The use of the familiar Windows GUI layout means that driving the software
is as intuitive as using Microsoft Word.
This has freed up valuable engineering time to allow us each to focus on
our own workload issues.

The availability of the program on both unix and Windows platforms has
addressed many of the cross-operating system issues we previously had
and has removed the need for X-viewer applications in order to view CAD
data on PC's.

Since we first made contact with Artwork, we have found them to be very
responsive to any issues raised, and indeed we are now working together
to further enhance the product, realising it's full potential as an
engineering application.

I would be pleased to commend Artwork and Qckvu to anyone in the
semiconductor industry who needs to view GDS or Mebes data in the
course of their work.

Hello Hagai,

I have been evaluating qckvu v1.12.

Your product in an excellent piece of software, which would be a
plus for our site. Currently we are reviewing the number of
licences needed.

(Btw, I am using a PC with ReflectionX 7.10 to access our unix box)

With regards,

Robbin

Hagai,

I don't think I've told you, I was very impressed by the
software. I have used supposedly stripped-down, fast
layout viewers before which require 30 seconds to
redraw the screen after panning on an Sparc Ultra2.
I saw some comments on your web site from TI, which
is where I come from.

Using Qckvu I can render our entire chip on my 3-year
old 400MHz PC in about 3 minutes and redraw is negligible.
Really, your tool is very nice.

Hagai,

I like your software! Fast as advertised, and very easy to use. I'm
going to recommend purchasing a copy including the plot option.

Hagai,
The eval on Qckvu is going really well. When comparing Qckvu to
other GDS viewers I can't find one that gives me the most bang for the buck.
We have many engineers who occasionally view gds files and they think
Qckvu is a great tool that is very easy to use (i.e. a lot less support
headaches). Thanks for all the work Artwork has put into this.

Thanks,
Greg

Fantastic! This program is great. We have files ranging from 35 to 60 meg.
Currently, we use Cadence design environment but it's a hassle to translate
GDS to CDS when I just want to quickly review a file. Thanks!

Hello Hagai,

I'm really impressed of qckvu and I already ask
corporate cad for buying some license of it.

I guess is already in progress and I hope it won't
last too long.

It's a great tool.

Best regards
Michael

Hagai,
We have evaluated the Qckvu software and are very impressed with its
functionality and user interface compared to other GDSII viewers. We have
several engineers that don't have the time to read through another manual on
how to use a piece of software and that makes Qckvu perfect for their needs.

The Qckvu interface is very intuitive and well constructed. I've received
several comments from our engineers on how easy Qckvu is to learn and use.
Not to mention it serves our need to open and view large Polar Shuttle GDSII
files and customer submitted GDSII files quickly. Thanks for putting
together a solid product.
