Gerber to ME-10 Translator

Product End of Life

Effective July 1, 2005 Artwork has stopped development on all ME-10 related translators and viewers. New orders will only be accepted for the current versions and no support contracts will be accepted for new orders and no support contracts will be renewed.

Description

GBR2MI translates Gerber photoplot data for printed circuit boards into Hewlett Packard's MI database format. Desingers responsible for assembly documentation or package design can use this translator to move board outlines, silk screens or padmaster data into ME-10.

A unique feature of our translator is the ability to convert each Gerber trace into an outline in ME-10. Since ME-!0 does not support display of lines with width this outline function gives the designer a true picture of the board.

Translation Options

Gerber draw: The program can translate each draw into an outline using the MI composite curve. For some applications such as silk screens this is not desirable. In that case the program can be set to translate just the centerline infomation.

Flashes- flashes can be translated into a subfigure. The subfigure will then be inserted in the same location as the flash. This is useful when the ME-10 desinger needs to extract flash insertion points. Alternately, flashes can be converted as entity data.
