MicroMagic OEM's Artwork's GDSPLOT Software

Sunnyvale, CA - MicroMagic, Inc., a developer of IC design tools, has begun bundling in Artwork's GDSPLOT plotting software with their MAX and MAX LS chip layout software.

MAX and MAX LS are sophisticated layout tools that can handle extremely large designs much faster than existing custom IC editors currently in use. GDSPLOT is a widely used program used for creating large color plots of ICs from their GDSII database.

By integrating Artwork's GDSPLOT engine, users of MAX can plot directly to their choice of laser printer, inkjet or large format color plotter. According to Lee Tavrow, who wrote the MAX plotting interface, "it's as easy as printing from a MAC - just press the button and go."

MAX users will be pleased that each seat of MAX including those licensed prior to this agreement will include the plotting function - no additional licenses need to be purchased, installed or configured.

MAX and MAX LS are available on Sun Solaris and Linux.
