Issues running on Windows 7

Now that Windows 7 is shipping the question arises: Does Artwork's Software run on Windows 7?

The answer is Yes, with only one small licensing problem noted during testing.

Windows Ultimate Edition 64 bit

We built a machine using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition which is the 64 bit version of the operating system. We tested our ASM 3500 and Qckvu3 on this machine representing code with two different "sources" The issues that arose are primarily related to licensing.

USB Sentinel Key

requires installing the Sentinel 7.5.1 driver. You should do this before starting the installation of the application. This requires a reboot after driver installation even though the hardware key becomes "active" immediately after driver installation. This type of license locking does NOT allow remote connections via terminal services.

Node Locking (Flexlm) to Network Card or Disk Serial Number

Qckvu3 seems to generate an extra 0x1A at the end of the license string during installation which must be manually edited away from the flexlm.lic file. This is probably an installer bug. Other than that, no problems noted. Again, remote connections cannot access such a license.

Flexlm Locking

No problems noted. Works as it did for Windows 2000/XP and Vista. Remote connections are allowed.
